World Jet Boat Races

As you get to know us, you’ll notice that many of our events have roots that run decades deep.

But we’re also a community of innovators, always interested in finding activities and events to bring to our area. We want to do what we can to keep our town relevant while still maintaining our small-town charm.

We might have hit the jackpot with this one.

The 2012 World Jet Boat Race Finals began in St. Maries on the St. Joe River last April. And although the World Jet Boat Race Finals only happen every four years, the boats are returning to St. Maries in May as part of 2013 Whitewater Jetboat Racing’s Canada & USA tour.

The official race course will be from the former Idaho Forest Industries landing to just before the Calder Bridge. Racers will compete four legs, two up and two down.

And, in usual St. Maries style, we’re not just hosting a jet boat race, we’re celebrating the entire weekend. Racers will be welcomed to St. Maries with a party for race crews, family and staff the Thursday before the races begin.

The St. Maries Chamber of Commerce is the point-of-contact for this event and can be reached at (208) 245-3563 or
