Ride benefits cancer fight

The St. Joe Snow Riders will raise money for local cancer patients. The club has hosted an annual Breast Cancer Snowmobile Ride in February since 2008 to benefit the Kootenai Health Foundation. The day-long event takes snowmobilers through a 50-mile course into the mountains of the St. Joe valley. The 6th Annual Summer Sucks Grass Drags races are July 18 and 19. The event, hosted by the St. Joe Snow Riders, started as a fundraiser to benefit the family of a club member who died in an avalanche. Since that time the organization has run the races each year and donates proceeds to various community projects and programs. Ride Targets Breast Cancer

You don’t have to own a snowmobile to help the St. Joe Snow Riders raise money at their annual Breast Cancer Poker Ride. This year, the club is raffling off a gun. Up for grabs is a Savage AXIS XP .243 pink Muddy Girl rifle with a scope. Tickets are for $5 each or five for $20. Annual ride benefits cancer fight

More than $12,000 has benefitted local cancer patients in Benewah County and the surrounding area over the last five years. The money has been raised at the St. Joe Snow Riders annual Breast Cancer Snowmobile Run.
