Medal Highway Dedication Saturday

A state highway will be dedicated in St. Maries Saturday in recognition of veterans who’ve received America’s highest military honor. Four years ago State 3 was designated as North Idaho’s Medal of Honor Highway. But there was never a dedication to mark the occasion. A local group of veterans from the American Legion Lloyd G. An overflow crowd attended the dedication of the Benewah County Veteran’s Memorial Oct. 19 at Woodlawn Cemetery. The following is the text of the remarks made by Jack Botts at the ceremony. When it comes to donating time or money to community projects, St. Maries area residents are always quick to step up. The most recent project is the Veteran’s Memorial which will stand at the west end of St. Maries.
