Mother, daughter manage Christmas drive

This year will mark the 10th year Adie Darden has served as the chairman for the Elks Christmas Baskets. It will also be her last. Her daughter, Sara, plans to manage the effort next year. The sounds of the holiday season abound in St. Maries.

Several local groups are preparing to fill the halls of St. Mareis with the sounds of the season. Saturday is the second annual community Christmas concert. The St. Maries community band and community choir will perform. The concert features holiday tunes, sing-a-longs and a few special performances. Soup’s On!

Don’t feel like cooking dinner tonight? The St. Maries Eagles Lodge’s third annual soup and pie dinner is from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight, Nov. 16. The cost for the meal is two cans of food per person. With this event, you’re eating dinner while helping stock the shelves area residents in need. “We hope to have a lot of support to help out our local food bank,” Gordon Hutchison said.
