It’s the people that make St. Maries great!

The sense of community is one of the best things about St. Maries.

At the heart of our community are the people who plan and organize events like the summer reading program at the St. Maries Public Library. The library will wrap up the summer reading program tomorrow (Thursday) with Family Night.

The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the library and is free. There is a free raffle for a basket filled with garden-themed items and hot dogs will be served from 5 to 6 p.m.

The event will also commemorate the life of longtime library volunteer board member Merna Park. A memorial stained glass window created by Nadine McFadden in Mrs. Park’s memory will be unveiled at 5:30 p.m.

The window design was inspired by flowers in Mrs. Park’s front yard.

The evening will conclude with a one-hour interactive music program, “Music with Miriam.” Folk musician and guitarist Miriam Kent will present the program from 6 to 7 p.m.

The local library is just one more reason to love St. Maries!
